Matthew 5:37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.
When you are a Christian, you learn a valuable lesson. That there is an enemy and the Gospel cannot be compromised. Doing so will cost not only the listeners in your midst but also yourself.
The true Gospel of Jesus Christ is always true. It is not sometimes true, or true just during time of trouble or seasons, it is always true. It cannot be compromised, set aside, rationalized, or apologized for. Make no mistake it can and will cut through the nonsense of an evil heart.
Fence sitters as I call them seek compromise, they seek common ground with false churches, doctrines, and with evil. They do not let their yes be yes and their no no. They utilize gray factors of the Gospel as they see them to make it more appealing. But doing so, they should learn that even with this manipulative tactic, the Gospel will still be resisted. Some learn this lesson, some do not.
The fence sitter desires to be loved by the enemy, instead of actually loving the enemy in that the FULL and UNFETTERED truth of God and His Gospel is shared.
Why can’t the Gospel be compromised? It would make it an untruth. This means that all roads do NOT lead to heaven. Let me repeat this, all roads do NOT lead to heaven. There is just ONE road and it is through Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life, you are not.
It might seem logical, but I have witnessed much lack of logic when it comes to Gospel. The Gospel sharer somehow believes they are the way, the truth, and the life. And where does this prideful vain belief come from? Not from God, but as Jesus stated “the evil one”. The boasting pastor screams for example, “come to the altar now, and you will be saved”, then boasting as to how many he was able to trick into doing so. The Roman Catholic parent believes they are the way, the truth, and the life, as they baptize their infants who are then told they had been given a rebirth in Christ, only to never realize this rebirth because it never happened.
Ecumenism is from “the evil one”. In order to really be an ecumenist, you must NOT let your yes be yes and no, no. The Gospel must be compromised, appeased, twisted, added on to, or parts deleted. It says “your idolatry and blasphemy is perfectly OK, as long as you get some of the parts”, again the yes is not yes, and the no is not no.
If you find yourself as someone who desires compromise the Gospel, repent of this! You do no service to the Kingdom in this, you are in fact a tare planter. One who does not seek the highest love of your neighbor, but one who tells God you have a better plan and way for salvation. You are saying you are the way, when Jesus was the way, while sinners are perishing. If you really trust the Gospel, always let your yes be yes and no be no!
